The Computer and Informatics Centre was established in August 2006 after the growing urgent need for such a Centre to provide the university with expertise in the field of software, training, Internet and computer maintenance, as the database unit, that was linked to the Office of Academic Assistant of the University President, was transferred to the Centre with its staff to be one of the Centre's units to include five units which are Networks Unit, Database Unit, Maintenance Unit, Training Unit, and Research and Development Unit. In 2011, the Centre's units were changed to divisions, namely (Training, Software, Networks and Maintenance division).
In 2017, the name of the Centre was changed to (Computer Centre), and the divisions of the Centre's were changed to (Technical Training Division, Systems and Software division, and the Maintenance and Networks Divisions were merged to become (Computer and Network Maintenance Division) with the introduction of (Administrative Affairs Division).
